Note: HandyAvi will handle most
types of AVI files without requiring "Microsoft® DirectX®.
"Microsoft® DirectX® is a
set of low-level application programming interfaces (APIs) for creating
games and other high-performance multimedia applications."
For best results however, DirectX 8.0 or higher should be installed on your
machine.
The current version of Microsoft® DirectX can be installed simply by using the Start button,
selecting "Windows Update", allowing it to scan your system, then installing
the current version of DirectX. (It will not be listed if you are
already running the current version of DirectX.)
Alternatively, you can visit the
Microsoft® DirectX®
site.
To use the Batch Processing feature, your machine will need to have the
"Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" installed. If it is not
already installed on your machine, it can be located on
Microsoft's web site. You will need to download and install the
".NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package" which, at the time of
this writing, was called "dotnetfx.exe". You will need the one that
matches your system, x86 in most cases. NOTE: This is only
needed for the batch processing mode. All other features of HandyAvi
do not need .NET Framework Version 2.0 and will work properly without it.
